Canadian market intelligence and commercial leadership for diagnostics companies
SignalPoint Access Intelligence exists to help diagnostics and precision medicine companies make informed decisions about Canadian market entry before committing resources to uncertain pathways.
The problem we solve
Most diagnostics companies approach Canada with optimism, strong clinical evidence, and a belief that innovation speaks for itself. Then they encounter a fragmented provincial system, opaque decision processes, and evidence requirements that don't match what they've prepared for other markets.
By the time they realize Ontario requires different evidence than Québec, or that their reimbursement approval doesn't guarantee lab adoption, they've already invested significant budget and time in the wrong direction.
SPAI was founded to give companies clarity earlier in the process, reducing wasted investment, strategic missteps, and launch delays.
Our approach
Evidence-based assessment
We ground every recommendation in real provincial decision criteria, recent reimbursement outcomes, and documented implementation experiences. No generic frameworks or wishful thinking.
Provincial expertise
We understand that Canada isn't a single market. Each province has distinct funding models, evidence expectations, implementation constraints, and decision timelines.
Founder-led counsel
You work directly with senior-level expertise from initial call to final deliverable. No handoffs to junior consultants. No templated slide decks.
Honest recommendations
If your product isn't market-ready for Canada, we'll tell you. Our value comes from helping you make the right decision, not extending engagements.
Who we work with
Diagnostics and precision medicine companies
We specialize in oncology diagnostics, genomic testing platforms, laboratory-developed tests, and companion diagnostics seeking Canadian market entry or expansion.
Stage and geography
Most clients are US or European-based companies with established products in their home markets. Some are pre-revenue in Canada; others are reassessing their Canadian strategy after initial setbacks.
We also work with US market access consultancies and regulatory firms that need a Canadian arm for their diagnostics clients.
Typical engagement triggers
- Planning initial Canadian market entry and need provincial sequencing strategy
- Received mixed signals from different provinces and need clarity
- Experienced slow adoption despite reimbursement approval
- Need to understand evidence gaps before investing in new studies
- Investors or acquirers evaluating Canadian diagnostics market exposure
About Mona Prasad

I founded SignalPoint Access Intelligence after spending over a decade inside the Canadian diagnostics market access system — first at Agilent Technologies building genomics partnerships across Canadian hospitals and government institutions, then as Country Manager at Myriad Genetics Canada where I led Health Canada approvals, provincial reimbursement strategy, and HTA engagement.
I've worked directly with CADTH, INESSS, HQO, Health Canada, and provincial cancer agencies. I've seen first-hand how diagnostics fail in Canada — not because the science is weak, but because the market entry strategy doesn't account for the way provincial systems actually make funding and implementation decisions.
I hold an M.Sc. in Molecular Biology from McMaster University and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.
SignalPoint was established to address capital exposure earlier — before submission becomes irreversible.

Large consultancies execute submissions. SignalPoint aligns strategy before submission. The focus is not document production. It is capital sequencing, provincial alignment, and institutional adoption strategy — before positioning becomes irreversible.
